David Favrholdt was Niels Bohr’s primary philosophical exponent from the 1970s until his death in 2012. We have learned a lot from Favrholdt, but we nonetheless take some exception to his historiography — which focused on establishing discontinuity between Niels Bohr’s thought and the thought of all philosophers before him. To Favrholdt’s credit, he was trying to convince people that Bohr had some important new ideas. He was also simply a great admirer of Bohr, after having attended a seminar where Bohr explained his philosophical views.
